You only have to look at your medical bills to conclude that the health service has become a good way of making money. What used to be a noble profession is now just another lucrative job that earns its pay from the misfortune of bad health. Due to this, it’s quite normal for people to think that health is a commodity. The reason why they don’t want to get sick is that they don’t want to so spend much. It’s impossible not to be sick though. That’s why it’s wiser to prepare for this event.

You’ll be lucky if you can find yourself a hospital that treats you for what illness you have in your body. Many private hospitals today usually do only you can afford according to the fortune you have in your pocket. A great number of people believe that the government should spend more on health in order to have options other than those expensive hospitals. If not, they should, at least, provide cheap medical insurance for its citizens. At least, this will alleviate many of those who cannot afford the expensive hospital services.

Cheap medical insurance is actually a basic right. The government is supposed to grant this to the people because it should be subsidized from taxes. Providing medical insurance that’s easy on their budget is one way of proving that they can benefit from their taxes too. Of course, private medical insurance companies must heed to it too. They should cut their premium rates to a very affordable level.

The problem is that many hospitals and even medical insurance firms have forgotten the noble purpose of their existence. They can no longer be differentiated from all other profit-oriented institutions. Patients can be well taken care of if they pay the price no matter how steep it is. Medical insurance holders can expect the best hospital and medical service only if they keep up with monthly premiums even if these are killing them instead.

Of course, they are businesses that need to earn profits. However, such reasoning cannot excuse them from the responsibility of providing health care to anyone in need. Otherwise, they bear no difference with other businesses. Obviously, one can say that their conformity to the Hippocratic Oath is just an example of hypocrisy. Cheap medical insurance must be made available by either the government or private companies. Hospitals and insurance companies must, therefore, see to it that people are covered with this.

Currently, debates on health insurance supplied by the government continue to rage. You shouldn’t wait for the issue to be resolve because you may need it soon. They may as well search for companies that provide them with cheap medical insurance. True, the current trend among health insurance providers is to increase premium rates but there are several that still hold their service-oriented principles. You can use the internet to research these. They may also visit a hospital and get information regarding the medical insurance firms they accept.
